About Us

At Plains Area Daycare Center, we provide a safe, developmental program that seeks to challenge each child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through well-planned, age-appropriate activities. We have happily served our community since 1991, cultivating generations of learning and development.

Our professionally trained staff ensures the provision of a safe, well-supervised environment.  A consistent daily schedule includes but is not limited to, a variety of opportunities in which children can actively participate, promoting growth in all areas of development.  We believe that children should be able to make choices in play according to their own interests and curiosities.

We believe each child should be accepted and respected as a unique individual having tremendous potential.  Children are challenged to accept and respect development, physical, religious, ethnic, and or racial differences in others as they observe teachers modeling this acceptance.

We believe a child's feelings of self-worth and security play a major role in growth and development.  Teachers take time to build personal, positive relationships with each child, essential for their emotional security while separated from parents/guardians.

Parents play an equally important role in the growth and development of the child. Staff members work with parents to identify strengths and weaknesses as the child participates in the program.  Parents will be kept informed of the child's progress on a regular basis.

We support families with a sliding fee scale, meals included in tuition, and financial assistance through a Mixed Delivery Grant (19 slots) and United Way subsidies.

Our mission is to cultivate the curiosity and uniqueness of children in a safe, inspiring environment.
